Lancaster Conservatory of Music

Our teachers have the education and experience to provide you with the best music lessons possible.  Lessons are available in 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions.  Group lessons begin periodically during the year.

Piano lessons focus on note-reading and proper hand positions.  The selection of pieces includes original works as well as familiar folk songs and pop styles in creative, enjoyable arrangements at an appropriate level.  A gradual, multi-key approach is used, allowing the student to experience coplete keyboard knowledge.  The student will learn basic rhythm patterns, intervals, chords, harmonization, scales, essential signs and terms, sightreading, and transposition.  Flashcards are used for further reinforcement of learning.

Guitar lessons teach chords and chord progressions as well as different strumming patterns.  You will learn to read music and play melodies using styles of music YOU choose.

Woodwind, brass, string, and percussion lessons supplement the instruction you receive in band or orchestra and provide extra help in any problem areas.  Technique, intonation, rhythm, and advanced music are also taught.

Voice lessons focus on correct breathing, vocal techniques, stage presence, pronunciation, and intonation.  A combination of styles are taught, including classical, popular, and broadway.

Children's Choir is for children ages 6-12 and meets for one hour weekly.  In addition to learning fun, popular music, children will learn basic musical concepts and vocal techniques.  Call for current schedule.

Teachers are divided into three categories:

Professional teachers have significant musical education and teaching experience (generally at least 10 years).  These teachers will take students of all levels and ages.  Fees range from $65-$80 per month

Intermediate Teachers have at least two years of teaching experience and are enrolled in a College or University music program.  Fees are $50 per month.

45 and 60 minute lesson fees are based on the half hour rate.

 All fees are billed monthly.
