Dance Classes

Dance teachers are professionally trained and have extensive teaching experience.
Our goal is to provide a positive experience for all students while providing them with
formal training that will serve them well in future dance experiences.
Please be sure to read and understand our dance policies. Because we are a
professional school, we require a strict dress and behavior standard for dance
students. This enables us to provide a high level of instruction for your student.

Classes are divided by age for easy identification of which class your child should join.
However, we believe that students should be challenged in their classes and should
be distinguished by ability, not just age. If a student is not being challenged in his/her
current class, the teacher may recommend a move to a different class so that
progress may be made. Also please note that students do not automatically advance
to the next level at the end of each year. Emotional maturity, physical development,
comprehension, competency of execution, correct body positioning and adequate body
strength may necessitate two to three years of training at any given level, particularly
level junior and senior levels. For ballet students, it is not unusual for a teacher to
delay pointe work for specific dancers who may not currently possess the necessary
strength or body alignment. These students may be be invited to take the pointe class
in soft shoes.

| Class Offerings Creative Movement Ages 3-6; one hour once each week. Classes provide an introduction to dance for young children. They will learn to be aware of their bodies and how they work through space. Different types of dance will be discussed. This is a great option for young children who may not be aware of what type of dance they are interested in, but enjoy dancing and moving to music. Intro to Dance Ages 12-16; 90 minutes each week. An introduction to dance for older students who have not had prior dance experience. Preschool Ballet Ages 3-5; one hour each week Elementary Ballet Ages 5-7; one hour each week Introduction to classical ballet for elementary school students. No prior dance experience required. Junior Ballet Ages 9-11; 90 minutes each week Classical ballet for students with at least two years prior ballet experience. Students will learn more advanced ballet techniques. Junior Modern Dance Ages 8-13; 90 minutes each week Modern dance for students with at least two years prior dance experience. Students will learn classical modern style dance. Senior Ballet Ages 11-16; 90 minutes each week Classical ballet for students with at least two years prior ballet experience. Advanced ballet techniques and pointe will be studied. All classes are billed monthly.
Hour classes: $45 per month
90 minute classes: $65 per month
Families with more than one student or registered for more than one class will be given a 5% discount for each additional class
