Kindermusik
What is ?
Kindermusik is an internationally taught early-childhood
music-and-movement series offering four course levels for children birth
through 7 years old. This highly acclaimed series provides children and
parents/care-givers the opportunity for active participation together in our
classes. You, the parents, are encouraged to take the lead with your child
and to explore together the many ways to sing, move or play music. While
developing that special bond between you and your child, you can watch
his/her confidence and knowledge grow. Some of the features you will
enjoy are:
SONGS- familiar and non-familiar, folk, silly songs and international
songs
MOVEMENT- Synchronized, creative, spatial, group & circle dances
INSTRUMENT PLAY - Drums, bells, rhythm instruments, and more...
OBJECT PLAY - Balls, scarves, hoops
FOCUSED LISTENING - Developing awareness and concentration
STORY TIME - Developing language and literacy
Kindermusik activities are great fun and meet the developmental needs
at each level of a child's learning. These special activities are supported
with the highest-quality music materials, which can be used both here
and at home. What fun for the whole family!

Kindermusik classes are divided by age group to allow for developmental differences as children grow. Each age group
focuses on activities and musical experiences appropriate to that stage of development.
Ages birth to 18 months
45 minute class once each week; 8 week session. Child attends with a parent or caregiver.
Kindermusik Village provides the natural learning your child is ready for from the first days of life. With you at the center of his
discovery, Village engages all his senses and rewards his curiosity with object and instrument exploration, vocal play, singing,
creative movement and a colorful literature component. Multi-level activities encourage you to make creative choices as he
grows from a lap baby to a crawler to a walker!
And Kindermusik Foundations of Learning insights, shared in class and at home, show you how the activities you share foster
his unique development.
Village opens new windows -- to show your baby more about the world and to show you more about your baby.
Kindermusik Village At Home materials include:
Kindermusik Village is offered in two 8-week sessions. For winter 2010, sessions are available on Saturdays at 9:15. Total
fees are $99 per session (materials: $39, tuition $60). Sign up for both eight week sessions and receive a discount. More than

Ages 18 months to 3 years
45 minute class once each week; 15 week session. Child attends with a parent or caregiver.
Our Time focuses on your child's healthy emotional development as her confidence, curiosity, self-control, and communication
begin to take shape. Our Time recognizes her need for both the freedom to try and for the assurance of your support.
Instrument exploration nurtures her self-esteem and facilitates her discovery of textures and sounds. Language skills are
fostered with singing, sound imitation, rhyming and object identification. Creative dancing to different musical moods develops
her sense of balance, timing and spatial awareness while affirming her urge to move. The anticipation and rewards begin to
blossom. Essentially, Our Time provides the safety of training wheels for the bicycle of pre-school!
Kindermusik Our Time At Home materials include...
...All to encourage self-directed play and the experimentation introduced in pre-school.
Kindermusik Our Time is a 15-week session. For winter 2010, sessions are available on Saturdays at 10:15. Total fees are
$169 per session (materials: $56; tuition $113). More than one child in Kindermusik? Other children taking other lessons?

Ages 3-5 years
60 minute class once each week; 15 week session. Child attends alone for 45 minutes, parents and caregivers join with
children for a 15 minute sharing time at the end of class.
Encouraging the storyteller inside your child, Imagine That! continues her creative music development while building on her pre-
school learning. In a small-group setting, instrument play is introduced in order to foster fine motor skills as well as familiarity
with basic concepts like rhythm, pitch and timbre. Vocal exploration develops her singing voice, and creative movement
strengthens her coordination. Listening activities cultivate discrimination and memorization skills, while peer interaction affirms
social skills. In Imagine That!, the thinker, creator and musician in your child come together, and suddenly the little butterfly has
new musical ways to explore the world and to express her discoveries.
Imagine That! materials include:
Kindermusik Imagine That is offered in a 15-week session. For winter 2010, sessions are offered on Saturday at 11:15.
Total fees are $218 (materials: $68; tuitiion: 150). More than one child in Kindermusik? Other children taking lessons? Ask

Ages 5-6 years
75 minute class once each week; 30 week session. Child attends alone for 60 minutes, parents and caregivers join with
children for a 15 minute sharing time at the end of class.
Using a small-group approach to music education, Kindermusik for the Young Child provides a pressure-free class where
your child can develop a strong musical foundation by learning the concepts, language, notation, and vocabulary of music and
its greatest composers.
The program is designed to prepare the young child who is eager for first experiences with musical symbols and instrument
discovery but is not yet ready for formal lessons and traditional music reading with an instrument.
During each semester of the program, students learn to play an instrument. The first year is devoted to the glockenspiel, a pre-
keyboard instrument. During the second year, dulcimer, a string instrument, and recorder, a wind instrument are studied, giving
students a foundation for future study of any instrument they choose.
Young Child Materials Include:
